Scope: This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for rubber and plastic suction hoses for fire protection. This standard also specifies requirements for hose assemblies. A hose assembly is a hose that has been fitted with couplings, the assembly being carried out by the hose manufacturer. Type A (rubber) hose is suitable for a minimum temperature of -20°C, and type B (thermoplastic) hose is suitable for a minimum temperature of -10°C.
