Scope
This part of YD/T 1588-2009 specifies the measurement methods, measurement systems, measurement procedures, calculation methods and result processing of optical fiber polarization mode dispersion in optical cable transmission links. This section is applicable to the measurement of polarization mode dispersion of silica-based single-mode optical fiber cable links, that is, optical transmission links composed of Class B optical fibers specified in GB/T 15972.10-2008. They can be optical cable lines that have been laid for fusion interconnection, or they can be optical paths between optical communication transceiver devices, or a part of them. The link can contain other optical components, such as optical amplifiers, WDM devices, combiners, etc.
