GB/T 19519-2004 Composite insulators for a.c.overhead lines with a nominal voltage greater than 1000V---Definitions,test methods and acceptance criteria (English Version)
This standard specifies the definition, test methods and acceptance criteria of composite insulators for AC overhead lines with a nominal voltage higher than 1 000 V. This standard applies to line suspension or tension composite insulators which may occasionally be subjected to compressive or bending loads, for example when used as phase separation insulators, where they are mainly subjected to bending loads. Line post insulators are not within the scope of this standard. Composite insulators involved in this standard include "core rod" and "umbrella cover". Mandrels are usually made of fiberglass impregnated with resin. The umbrella cover can be made of various materials, including elastomers (such as silicone rubber, ethylene propylene rubber); resins (such as alicyclic resins); or fluorocarbons (such as polytetrafluoroethylene). This standard does not include requirements for the selection of insulators for specific operating conditions.
