Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the basic principles for the selection and calibration of dosimetry systems used to measure absorbed dose in gamma-ray, X-ray and electron beam radiation processing. This standard gives the type of dosimetry system used for calibration and quality assurance in commercial radiation processing, the expression method of absorbed dose and the uncertainty evaluation of dosimetry. For the calibration of analytical instruments see the relevant dosimetry system standards. 1.2 The upper limit of this standard for measuring absorbed dose is 1000 KGy; the range of radiation energy is 0.1MeV~5OMeV (photons and electrons). 1.3 This standard should be used in conjunction with specific application standards for specific dosimetry systems. 1.4 This standard does not cover neutron or heavy charged particle radiation process dose measurements. 1.5 This standard does not address user-related safety issues, if any. The user of this standard is responsible for establishing applicable safety and health standards and determining applicable limitations prior to use.
