Scope: This standard specifies the minimum acceptable requirements for reliability analysis of safety systems in nuclear power plants. This standard applies to safety systems of nuclear power plants that require reliability analysis. The methods covered in this standard are also applicable to the following systems or parts of systems requiring reliability analysis: safety-related systems, other systems involving the interaction between safety-related and non-safety-related systems. This standard is also applicable to all stages of design, manufacture, test, maintenance and repair of nuclear power plant systems and components. The timing of the analysis depends on the purpose of the analysis. This standard is also applicable to the reliability analysis of other nuclear reactor safety systems.
