- This standard proposes uniform, acceptable and reasonable minimum requirements for the reliability analysis of safety systems of nuclear power plants in design and operation. This standard applies to safety systems of nuclear power plants that require reliability analysis. This standard is also applicable to the following systems or parts of systems requiring reliability analysis: safety-related systems, other systems involving the interaction between safety-related and non-safety-related systems. This standard is also applicable to all stages of design, manufacture, test, maintenance and repair of nuclear power plant systems and components. The timing of analysis depends on the purpose of analysis. This standard is also applicable to the reliability analysis of other nuclear reactor safety systems.
