Scope
This standard specifies the terminology and normative reference documents of digital multimeters (hereinafter referred to as instruments), specifies technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules, and gives some basic requirements such as product marking, packaging and storage. This standard applies to various types of digital multimeters. It is also suitable for various analog-to-digital converters for digital measurement of analog quantities such as DC voltage, AC voltage, DC current, AC current and resistance in various data processing and information control equipment, automatic test systems or personal instrument systems . This standard also applies to the same type of digital measuring instruments based on measuring voltage and other parameters (electric or non-electric) and their associated accessories, or their combination. This standard also applies to the digital measurement and display part of multimeters that combine digital and analog or graphics. This standard does not apply to analog multimeters and other non-digital indicating instruments.
