Scope
This standard specifies the immunity requirements, test methods and recommended test level range for equipment to unipolar surge (shock) caused by switching and lightning transient overvoltages, and specifies several tests related to different environments and installation conditions. test level. The requirements set out in this standard apply to electrical and electronic equipment. The purpose of this standard is to establish a common benchmark for evaluating the performance of equipment when subjected to high energy disturbances from power lines and interconnection lines. This standard stipulates: - test level; - test equipment; - test configuration; - test procedure. The task of the laboratory test is to find out the response of the EUT to the surge (impulse) voltage with a certain level of hazard generated by the switch or lightning when it is working under the specified working state. This standard does not test the ability of insulating materials to withstand high voltage. This standard does not consider direct lightning strikes. This standard does not specify tests for special equipment or systems, and its main purpose is to provide a general basic basis for relevant professional standardization technical committees. Professional standardization technical committees (or users and equipment manufacturers) are responsible for selecting appropriate test items and test levels for their equipment.
