This part of GB/T 8411 applies to ceramics, glass ceramics, glass-bonded mica and glass materials for electrical insulation. This section specifies the test methods, the purpose of which is to use these methods to measure the typical performance parameters of the materials used in the samples. In most cases, the size and shape of electrically insulating ceramic components differ significantly from the test specimens, so the results of these tests are only indicative of the actual component properties. Requirements for specimen formation and specimen handling methods are discussed where relevant.
