Scope
This standard specifies the sensory analysis method for arranging a series of inspected samples according to their certain characteristics or the order of their overall impression. This standard applies to the evaluation of differences between samples, such as the intensity of one or more sensory characteristics of the sample, or the overall impression of the sample by the evaluator. This method can be used to discern whether there is a difference between samples, but it cannot determine the extent of the difference between samples. The methods specified in this standard are applicable to the following situations: a) Evaluation by evaluators: including training evaluators and determining sensory thresholds of individual or group evaluators; b) Product evaluation: 1) Preliminary testing of samples before descriptive analysis or preference test Screening; 2) During descriptive analysis and preference testing, determine the impact on the intensity level of one or more sensory indicators of the product due to differences in raw materials, processing, packaging, storage and dilution sequences of tested samples; 3) During preference testing , to determine the preference order.
