This part of GB/T 15972 specifies the test method for optical fiber differential mode delay, and establishes the unified requirements for test equipment, injection conditions, procedures, calculation methods and results. This part applies to the measurement of the differential mode delay of class A1 graded-index multimode optical fibers and the commercial inspection of finished optical fiber cables. The test methods determined in this section are generally used in production plants and research institutes, but are not suitable for field operations.
