1.1 This standard specifies the evaluation of the tendency of mineral oil-based turbine oil and mineral oil-based anti-wear hydraulic oil with inhibitors to corrode copper catalyst metal and form sludge at high temperatures in the presence of oxygen, water, metallic copper and iron. . This standard is also applicable to testing circulating oils that have a relative density less than water and contain rust inhibitors and antioxidants. 1.2 This standard is a modification of GB/T 12581. GB/T 12581 determines the oxidation stability of oil products by tracking and measuring the acid value of similar oil products. The number of hours of testing required for the acid value of an oil to reach 2.0mgKOH/g is the oxidation life. 1.3 Step A of this standard requires the determination and reporting of the mass of the sludge and the total amount of copper in the oil, water, and sludge. Step B only requires the determination of the mass of the sludge. Determination of acid number is optional in both steps. 1.4 This standard adopts the (SI) International System of Units. 1.5 This standard involves certain safety issues related to the use of the standard. However, it is not intended to provide advice on all safety issues. Therefore, users should establish appropriate safety and protective measures and determine an applicable management system before using this standard.
