Scope
This part applies to composite insulator string components for AC overhead lines with a nominal voltage higher than 1000V and a frequency not exceeding 100Hz. It is also suitable for the use of insulators of similar design in substations or on electric traction lines. The purpose of this standard is to specify the specified values of the mechanical properties of composite insulator string elements and the main dimensions used for connection on composite insulator string elements, so that insulators or end accessories provided by different manufacturers can be assembled and interchanged. This part also specifies the standard connection symbols for composite insulator string components.
