1.1 This standard specifies methods for determining the color fastness to domestic and commercial laundering of various types of conventional household textiles. Industrial and hospital textiles may require (in some respects) specific wash programs with more aggressive washing conditions. 1.2 Due to the desorption and (or) friction during the test, the fading and staining of the sample caused by a single (S) test is very close to that of a household and commercial washing, and after a composite (M) test, it is close to The effect of more than five home and commercial washes at a temperature not exceeding 70°C. 1.3 This standard does not apply to industrial and medical textiles that require stricter washing operations in certain aspects. 1.4 The methods of this standard do not reflect the effects of optical brighteners in commercial laundering procedures. 1.5 The test methods of this standard are formulated according to a given detergent and chlorine bleaching method. The use of other detergents and chlorine bleaching methods may require different test conditions.
