Scope: This standard specifies the classification, terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of magnetic carriers for dry two-component developers for electrophotography. This standard applies to magnetic carriers (referred to as carriers) for dry two-component developers used in electrostatic copiers with magnetic brush development and thermal fixation. This standard does not apply to ultrafine carriers where all or most of the particle sizes are less than 45 μm.
