- This standard specifies the basic requirements for the design, manufacture and inspection of oil, gas and/or oil, gas and water separators used in the oil and/or natural gas production process. These separators are typically used in the production process between the wellhead and long-distance pipelines. Separators applicable to this standard include vertical, spherical, single-cylinder horizontal or double-cylinder horizontal types. This standard does not apply to centrifugal separators, filter separators and desanding separators.
