This standard specifies the classification, specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of springs for mechanical clocks (hereinafter referred to as "springs"). This standard applies to springs for mechanical clocks and timers, as well as springs or flat scroll springs (hereinafter referred to as "springs") for other mechanical devices that use torque as a power source.
