This standard specifies the size series, tolerances and technology of polyperfluoroethylene propylene (FEP)/tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer (PFA) fluoroplastic series fully covered rubber O-rings for mechanical seals Requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage and installation precautions. This standard applies to special rubber O-rings that are fully coated with FEP/PFA fluoroplastics on an inner core of fluorine or silicone rubber and compounded with a special process. They can be used in certain chemicals that ordinary rubber O-rings cannot adapt to. In media environments, elasticity is provided by the rubber core, while chemical resistance is provided by the seamless FEP/PFA sleeve. It not only has the low compression permanent deformation properties of rubber O-rings, but also has the unique properties of heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, wear resistance, weather aging resistance, and chemical media corrosion resistance unique to fluoroplastics. It can replace some traditional rubber O-rings. Rings are widely used in sealing situations with various media in the temperature range of -60°C to 200°C, except for halides, molten alkali metals, and fluorocarbons.
