Scope

This standard specifies four methods for measuring the dimensions of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber test specimens and articles. A, B and C are contact measurement methods, and D is non-contact measurement method. Method A of this standard is applicable to measuring dimensions below 30mm, method B is applicable to measuring dimensions from 30 to 100mm, method C is applicable to measuring dimensions above 100mm, and method D is applicable to measuring all dimensions. When specimens or articles have curved surfaces or complex shapes, other measurement methods may be used. For common measuring instruments, see Appendix A1].
