- Scope
- This standard specifies the classification and code, product specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of glass fiber chopped strand mats and continuous strand mats (hereinafter referred to as mats). This standard applies to glass fiber chopped strand mat (hereinafter referred to as chopped strand mat) and glass fiber continuous strand mat (hereinafter referred to as continuous mat) for reinforced plastics and reinforced cementitious materials. It can also refer to glass fiber continuous monofilament mat and glass fiber needle felt. This standard does not apply to fiberglass stitched mats, thin glass fiber mats, or glass fiber mats for heat and sound insulation.
