Scope

This section specifies the application of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and SIP with encapsulated ISUP (SIP-I) for call control in SIP-based networks and softswitch control-based networks, and the application of SIP and SIP-I with BICC /ISUP interoperable network architecture application scenarios. This section applies to softswitches, application servers, SIP terminals and SIP servers using SIP and SIP-I.
