Scope

This standard specifies methods for on-site use and maintenance of steel wire ropes used in the oil and gas industry, as well as the design features and evaluation of corresponding parts. This standard is applicable to guide the selection, design, evaluation, replacement and scrapping of conventional steel wire ropes used in the oil and gas industry.
