Scope

This standard specifies a test method for determining the alkali-silica reactivity of aggregates by measuring changes in the length of mortar bars. Note () Does not apply to artificial lightweight aggregates (coarse, fine). () The definition of the term alkali-silica reaction (ASR) is based on 3.1 of JIS A 1145 Test method for alkali-silica reactivity of aggregate (chemical method). () Judgment in 11. does not apply to aggregates extracted from hardened concrete.
