Scope
This part of GB/D 20439 specifies the characteristics of test standards used to evaluate the consistency of the performance and quality of flatbed or drum-type black and white reflection scanners used in electronic image management systems during their use. This test target is used to: a) perform routine checks on the performance of the system; b) determine the performance limits of the system. This section applies to the evaluation of black and white or color office documents (regardless of whether they have halftone or color) output quality of black and white scanners. This section does not apply to color scanners or scanners used to scan transparent or translucent documents. Note: For additional standards used to evaluate the output quality of black and white scanners using continuous tone and color, see GB/T 20439.2.
