This part specifies the general conditions and requirements for the use of electrical equipment on the main circuit, auxiliary circuit, control and indication circuits of rolling stock. Note: Certain provisions in these rules may be applicable to equipment on other rolling stock (such as mining locomotives, trams, etc.) after negotiation between the manufacturer and the user. The purpose of this section is to standardize common rules and requirements for rolling stock electrical equipment as much as possible to achieve consistency in equipment requirements and testing, thereby avoiding testing according to different standards. This part covers all requirements related to expected environmental conditions, structure, performance and corresponding general tests under normal use conditions, as well as special areas that have received widespread attention and application, such as temperature rise, dielectric properties, etc.
