- This standard specifies the framework for harmonizing the integration of existing standards and the development of future standards so that organizations can work with each other through Open EDI, and provides a reference for these standards. Therefore, the role of this standard is to guide the standardization work required to realize open-edi by providing a context for use by standard developers, ensuring the coherence and integrity of related standardized modeling and description technologies, services, service interfaces, and protocols . This International Standard describes important aspects related to the interoperability of information technology systems used by organizations participating in Open EDI through the two perspectives of business transactions. The two perspectives are: a) the business aspects of business information, business agreements, agreements and rules between organizations; b) the information technology aspects necessary to support the execution of business transactions in open edi systems. This International Standard is neither a specification for implementation nor a basis for checking the conformity of implementation.
