Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for test procedures and test objects, test voltage and current generation and measurement methods, test procedures, test results evaluation methods and criteria for test eligibility. Terminology related to testing is also specified. This standard applies to the following tests for equipment with a rated voltage of AC 1KV and below and DC 1.5KV and below: a) DC voltage insulation test; b) AC voltage insulation test; c) Impulse voltage insulation test; d) Impulse current test; e) Synthetic test of the above tests.
