Scope: This standard specifies the safety and construction requirements for coupling devices. This standard applies to coupling devices for connecting soft soldering cables. The coupling device shall be designed so that it can be connected or disconnected only by manual operation without tools. Note: Terminal blocks, cable fixing blocks, wing nuts, etc., whether insulated or not, are not within the scope of this standard. This standard does not apply to coupling devices for underwater welding. Note: For plasma arc welding and cutting and high-voltage arc ignition and arc stabilization, the adaptability and safety of the coupling device used shall be negotiated between the manufacturer and the user.
