Scope: This standard specifies various robot-specific services and protocols and robot-specific standardized objects that need to be represented by the abstract syntax notation of the protocol elements specified in the MMS companion standard. This standard describes the model of the robot and how the attributes of the robot are mapped to the attributes of the virtual manufacturing device. This International Standard gives the specification of conformance classes consisting of a base class and several enhanced classes. This standard gives the protocol and various service definitions for a robot operating as a server in the abstract syntax specified by this standard. This standard applies to open communication systems using robots and robot systems connected to communication networks according to the OSI model.
