Scope

This standard specifies the requirements and methods for identifying the characteristics of low-level radioactive waste packages with cement as the main solidification (fixation) medium. This standard applies to the identification of the characteristics of low-level radioactive waste packages (including solidified and fixed bodies) to be disposed of near the surface. This standard does not apply to the characterization of waste packages using high integrity containers.
