Scope
This document specifies the characteristics of structural-grade and high-strength hot-rolled steel sheets and strips produced by the twin-roll casting process. See Appendix B for the twin-roll casting process. This product is suitable for applications with special mechanical performance requirements. The product is normally used in the delivered condition and is intended for bolted, riveted or welded constructions. This product is normally produced on narrow strip mills rather than heavy plate mills. Structural-grade twin-roll cast-rolled hot-rolled steel sheet and strip are manufactured carbon steels with specified mechanical properties and are available in a number of grades (see Table 5). High-strength twin-roll cast hot-rolled steel sheets and strips are microalloyed, manufactured to have specified mechanical properties, and are available in many grades and classes (see Table 6).
