Scope

This standard specifies the assignment of 25-pin connectors and their contact numbers for use on the interface between data terminal equipment (DTE) and data circuit terminating equipment (DCE) or parallel automatic calling equipment (ACE). This standard applies to voice-band modems, public data network (PDN) facilities, telegraph signal converters and automatic calling equipment that comply with GB3454 and GB3455. In the case of connecting to the PDN via the GB11592 interface, the function of the interface circuit must comply with GB11594. In the case of a v2.0-type outstation interface, the electrical characteristics shall comply with CCITT Recommendation V.31 or v.31bis. This standard also provides the size of the connector housing, and gives the method of locking the locking device (locking block) and the method of shielding the connector.
