This standard defines OSI network services according to the following aspects: a. Primitive actions and events of the service; b. Parameters associated with each primitive action and event and the form they take; c. and events and their valid sequences. The main purposes of this standard are: a. To specify the characteristics of conceptual network services, thus complementing the reference model, to guide the development of network layer protocols; b. To encourage the convergence of functions provided by subnetwork providers; c. Existing heterogeneous subnetworks provide a basis for common subnetwork-independent network services so that they can be concatenated to provide global communications (such concatenation may involve optional additional functionality not defined in this standard). Defining network quality of service is an important part of network service standards; d. Provide a basis for developing and implementing a transport layer protocol independent of subnetworks, so that it can be separated from the underlying public and private subnetworks and their special interfaces Freedom from the diversity of requirements. This standard does not specify specific implementations and products, nor does it limit the realization of internal entities and interfaces of the system. For this standard, there is no issue of conformity of equipment. Consistency is achieved through implementations that follow the OSI networking protocols. The OS1 network protocol meets the network services defined in this standard.
