Textiles—Test methods for electrostatic propensity—Part 5：Test method using rotary mechanical friction (English Version)

Scope: This document specifies a method for the determination of the triboelectric potential of fabrics using the rotating mechanical rubbing method. This document applies to fabrics of various compositions and constructions capable of withstanding triboelectrification operations. This document does not apply to the evaluation of clothing and clothing materials related to personal safety and protection of electrostatic discharge sensitive devices. Note: Some fabrics, such as low-strength or loose-structured fabrics, may not be able to withstand the mechanical friction in this test method, or may produce erroneous results. In this case, the method specified in GB/T12703.1 can be used for testing .
