Scope
This part of IEC 60825 is a technical report giving guidance on the planning, design, installation and implementation of displays and performances using high power lasers. In order to produce dramatic or artistic displays in large venues, such as theaters, squares or buildings, the laser power is high enough to cause serious exposure accidents, even for very brief exposures to people. For this reason, subclause 4.1.5 of GB/T 7247.14 2012 stipulates that only Class 1, Class 2 or visible light 3R laser products can be used for teaching, display or entertainment purposes in places without supervision, and other types of laser products are only allowed Use with caution under controlled conditions and under the direction of trained and experienced operators. This section does not cover the display or teaching of scientific research, medical or industrial laser products, but many of the principles can be applied in the above cases. This guide provides safety recommendations for laser displays or performances, including: art displays, advertising or light sculptures, museum exhibits demonstrating the principles of optics, and more. Laser products intended for use in the domestic environment or by persons who cannot require them to receive training in Class 1, Class 2 or Visible 3R laser products are outside the scope of this standard.
