Scope

This standard specifies the load and deceleration smoke emission limits and test methods for road diesel vehicles. This standard applies to in-use vehicles equipped with compression ignition engines, with a maximum total mass greater than 400kg, and a maximum design speed equal to or greater than 50km/h.
