Scope
Scope 1.1.1 This standard applies to newly produced outdoor specialty gas appliances (see Part IV,Definitions), hereinafter referred to as appliances, constructed entirely of new, unused parts and materials. Appliances submitted for examination under this standard shall be classified as portable. These products are not intended for commercial use. 1.1.2 This standard does not apply to appliances for installation in or on recreational vehicles and/or boats. 1.1.3 An appliance may be a: a. Fryer/Boiler; b. Smoker; c. Table top grill; or d. Any combination of the above. 1.1.4 Appliances may be for connection to: a. A fixed fuel piping system; or b. A self-contained liquefied petroleum gas or propane gas supply system of a single cylinder with a maximum size of 20 pounds (9.1 kg) of fuel. 1.1.5 This standard applies to appliances operating at inlet gas pressures not to exceed 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa) for connection to a fixed fuel piping system: a. For use with natural gas; b. For use with manufactured gas; c. For use with mixed gas; d. For use with liquefied petroleum gases; and e. For use with LP gas-air mixtures.
