This standard specifies the principles and basic requirements for radiation protection and radiation environmental protection that should be followed during the siting, design, construction, operation, shutdown, decommissioning and closure, and long-term monitoring of uranium mining and metallurgical facilities. This standard applies to uranium mining and metallurgical facilities within the territory of the People's Republic of China. Thorium ores or other associated radioactive ores may be implemented as a reference.
