Scope

This document gives the parameter characteristics of electromagnetic noise suppression sheets (NSS) for digital devices and equipment with frequencies between 30MHz and 30GHz. This document also provides guidance on the description of noise suppression sheet performance in the manufacturer's technical data. NSS suppresses noise at the noise source rather than absorbing noise at a certain distance. NSS are therefore different from RF absorbers used in free space. The values given in this document are typical parameter (property) values related to NSS. The performance values of a specific device are not easy or even possible to predict, so the purpose of NSS testing is to evaluate material-specific qualifications. Each detailed material and NSS specification should be mutually agreed between the user and manufacturer.
