- Scope
- Purpose This method is used to determine the degree of corrosiveness of gasolines and middle distillates to silver or silver alloys used in fuel system components. This method is also applicable to blends of diesel and oxygenated gasolines, intermediate products or blend components such as alkylates, reformates and isomerates. Units of measurement — In this standard, quantities and dimensions are expressed in SI units while the equivalents in imperial units (most having been obtained by arithmetic conversion) are indicated in parentheses. SI units will prevail in the event of a dispute or in the event of unforeseen difficulties resulting from conversion to imperial units. Testing and evaluating a product against this standard may require the use of materials or equipment that may be hazardous. This document does not intend to cover all aspects related to the safety of its use. It is up to the user of the standard to obtain information from the competent authorities and adopt health and safety practices in accordance with applicable regulations before using it.
