Scope: 1 Scope This method provides a means of determining the degree of corrosiveness of gasoline and middle distillate fuels to silver or silver alloys used in fuel system components. This method also applies to oxygenated gasoline and diesel blends, intermediate streams or blending components such as alkylate, reformate, and isomerate. Units of measure — Quantities and dimensions in this standard are given in SI units with imperial equivalents, mostly obtained through soft conversion, given in parentheses. The SI units are regarded as being official in the event of dispute or unforeseen difficulty arising from the conversion. The testing and evaluation of a product against this method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous.
