This standard specifies the methods for evaluating the results of dynamic tests and inspections of bridges and viaducts. The test methods in ISO 14963 are supplemented from the following aspects: --The purpose of dynamic testing; --Data analysis and system identification technology; --Modeling of bridges; Evaluation of measurement data. The dynamic tests covered in this standard are not a substitute for static tests. This standard provides guidance for the evaluation of tests performed throughout the life cycle of bridges. The life cycle stages of bridges include: --the stage before construction and acceptance; --the stage of acceptance; --the specific cycle stage in the life of the bridge; --the stage about to be decommissioned. This standard applies to road bridges, railway bridges, pedestrian bridges, viaducts and other areas where it has been proven applicable during construction and use. When this standard is used for some special structures (such as suspension bridges or cable-stayed bridges), specific test items should be provided according to engineering characteristics.
