- This standard specifies the reference test method (RTM) and alternative test method (ATM) for single-mode optical fiber polarization mode dispersion (PMD), and stipulates unified requirements for test equipment, injection conditions, measurement procedures, calculation methods, and results. This standard is applicable to the inspection of PMD characteristics of Class B uncabled and cabled single-mode optical fibers specified in GB/T 15972.1.
