- This section specifies methods for measuring the power consumption of television receivers, video tape recorders, set-top boxes, audio equipment and multi-function devices used by consumers. It also specifies different operating modes related to power consumption. This measurement method is only suitable for equipment that can be connected to the mains power supply. The measurement conditions specified in this section represent the normal use conditions of the equipment and may differ from other special conditions, such as those specified in safety standards.
