- Scope
- This standard specifies the Lipkin double capillary pycnometer method for determining the density and specific gravity of liquids, and also specifies the calculation method for converting density into specific gravity. This standard is applicable to the determination of the density of any liquid at the specified test temperature. The scope of use is limited to the density of liquids with a vapor pressure lower than 0.8OPa (approximately 600mmHg) and a viscosity at 20°C less than 15mm2/s (cSt). This standard includes two parts, Method A and Method B. Method A is suitable for pure compounds and low-volatile mixtures. Method B is suitable for highly volatile mixtures.
