Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules and rating standards for the metallographic structure of boron cast iron monolithic cast piston rings for internal combustion engines. This standard is applicable to the inspection and rating of the metallographic structure of boron cast iron single cast piston rings of internal combustion engines with cylinder diameters within 160 mm.
