- This standard specifies sample preparation for acid corrosion testing of macrostructure and defects of marine steel welded joints, test methods for cold acid corrosion and hot acid etching, sample processing, etc. This standard is applicable to the macro acid corrosion test of welded joints of marine carbon structural steel, marine low alloy structural steel and austenitic stainless acid-resistant steel. The macro acid corrosion test of welded joints of other marine steel materials can also be carried out with reference to this.
