This part of ISO 6508 specifies the hardness test using the standard Rockwell and Super Rockwell methods for the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, K, 15N, 30N, 45N, 15T, 30T and 45T scales for metallic materials and applies to stationary and mobile hardness testing machines. Other special international standards apply to special materials and/or products (e.g. ISO 3738-1 and ISO 4498). NOTE It should be noted that only those made from a tungsten carbide mixture are considered standard penetrating balls for the Rockwell test. Steel penetrating balls are only permitted for further use if they comply with Appendix A.
