EN ISO 17161:2016 Fine ceramics (advanced ceramics, advanced technical ceramics) - Ceramic composites - Determination of the degree of misalignment in uniaxial mechanical tests (ISO 17161:2014)
This International Standard describes a method:
——for verifying the misalignment of the force application system of a testing machine by applying uniform tension or compression to a reference specimen; and;
——to provide information about errors, e.g. B. Torsion and bending errors in order to correct them. This International Standard is not intended to specify a quantitative and allowable limit before testing ceramic matrix composites with unidirectional (1D), bidirectional (2D) and multidirectional (xD, with 2 < x 3) fiber reinforcement along any of the main reinforcement axes be claimed. This limit depends on the sensitivity of the respective composite material to the misalignment. NOTE 1 This limit is agreed between the testing center and the client. NOTE 2 Monolithic ceramic materials are very sensitive to misalignment, while ceramic matrix composite (CMC) materials generally have only moderate sensitivity.
