This part specifies the in-service test requirements for nuclear is and valves in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants. This section applies to valves that perform safety functions and provide overpressure protection devices, but does not include the following valves: a) Valves used only to facilitate operation, such as exhaust, drain and test valves: b) Used only for system control Valves, such as pressure regulating valves; c) Valves used only for system or component maintenance; d) Mobilely installed valves; e) External control and protection systems responsible for detecting various power plant operating conditions or providing signals for valve operation; f) Valves that are part of the module and participate in the overall test, and are confirmed by the operating unit to have been fully tested.
